of Regional Potentials

 1. Step: Determination total potential of the investigated country Basis of the regional data is a detailed investigation of the respective total expenditure in the partial markets (e.g. parquet, doors, MDF, OSB etc.). This is based on an exact single analysis of the 20 to 50 most important suppliers in the respective markets. These form the basis for the calculations of the expenditures per capita per product group.
 2. Step: Distribution channels In the second step the national distribution of the product groups is examined. Thereby the potentials for the channels wholesale, retail trade and direct sale are computed in detail and defined by research and interviews with the trade.

 

 Distribution analysis are present for all product groups of the wood and building material trade. On basis of these data wholesale and retail potentials can be computed separately. Additionally sales volume data on manufacturer sales level are offered. These form the basis for the evaluation of the field work areas. On MP level all potentials are indicated independently from the distribution channel to manufacturer selling prices.


On WP level only the potentials are represented, which are distributed regionally over the wholesale. The potential data contain the trade profit margin and illustrate thus the sales prospects of the wholesale.


On RP level only the potentials are represented, which are distributed regionally over the retail trade. Thereby specialized trade and DIY stores are equally considered. The potential data contain the trade profit margin and illustrate thus the sales prospects of the retail trade.

 

If the B+L market potential data are to be used primarily for the computation of market chances in fieldwork areas, the MP level is meaningful. If the data are to be used additionally as basis for area discussions and turnover agreements with the trade, every three levels are meaningful.

 

 

 

In the third step the regionalisation of the data on postal code level with 5 digits takes place. Basis for this is the building renovation index (BR), first computed by B+L 10 years back.
